HELLO! I actually have writers block (definitely felt like Carrie Bradshaw when I wrote that). 2017 got off to a really good start in terms of blogging and has slowly died down, I need to get back into the swing of things but sometimes it can be SUCH a struggle. There’s so many posts and ideas I have but I can’t get to the stage of actually getting the content together. I didn’t want you all to think I’ve done a disappearing act so I thought I’d do a bit of a ‘life update’ post!

I’ve had a couple of big changes in my life the past two months. I started a new job (which doesn’t really feel like a ‘new’ job as I worked there for 4 years previously). I have left The Fashion Retail Academy and have re-joined all my girls at Henry Fox Recruitment (a fashion recruitment agency). It’s really lovely to be back there and feels like I’ve never been away, I feel much happier overall and like a dark cloud has been lifted. You don’t realise it until you change jobs but when you are unhappy at work, it can really consume your whole overall mood. If you are dreading going to work tomorrow (because you hate your job), make a change NOW. Life is way too short.

My dad has also finally sold our family home which made me a hell of lot more sad than I thought it would. I hate the thought of someone else in our house which is so silly but it’s a sad thing when everyone leaves your family home. It doesn’t help that I drive past it twice a day (it’s been a week and I still can’t drive past without getting teary).

The black roots are gone and I’m in full BARBIE mode again and the obsession with pink has got way out of control. I got my hair done at SAMANTHA CUSICK again which is just the BEST salon ever. Free cocktails whilst you get your hair done, I’m there!

I have also been quite busy with events, classes etc. I attended the GLAMOUR BEAUTY FESTIVAL a few weekends ago which was a really fun day out. I got my hair braided by THE BRAID BAR which was probably my highlight. Oh wait, no maybe the goodie bag was. How cute!?

I tried my first HOT YOGA class which I LOVED until I experienced my first yoga-hangover. NOT FUN, let me tell you. I woke up with my head pounding as if I’d drunk a gallon of white wine. *Note to self drink at least 4 litres before I go and the next day next time. I also attended my first reformer pilates class at MOVE YOUR FRAME in Shoreditch which I also really enjoyed, can’t wait to go back for another class.

On Thursday evening I attended the launch event for BLOWOUT IBIZA which was held at LIGHTS OF SOHO. They revealed all their looks for the upcoming season which has got me ridiculously excited to pay them a visit when I’m in Ibiza in July for my best friends hen do.

Talking of IBIZA…guess where I’m going next Sunday? You guessed it. IBIZA BABY. I have been on countdown for my pilates retreat for what seems like forever now, but it’s almost here! I went for dinner with my retreat roomie on Friday evening which was so lovely as we checked out our schedule over dinner. 5 days full of pilates, yoga, hikes, delicious food, sunshine, beach trips, workshops and lots of FUN. I love meeting new people and can’t wait to make some amazing memories and experience my first solo trip.

Nice blog and what an insightful post. I agree, if you’re working in a job where you’re miserable then life is too short to put up with that. I’ve been there myself and it’s not nice. I’ve worked in so many crappy jobs over the years, and a few months ago I worked in a job where I was treated badly and as a result I was depressed. Now I freelance and not working at that place anymore, I am in a much better place. Never put up with anything that doesn’t serve to make you happy.

P.S. You work in fashion recruitment, do you know of any upcoming roles? I’d love to work in the fashion industry in a variety of roles, preferably, media/marketing/PR/admin/freelance…
